St. Albert & District Further Education Association

At St. Albert Further Education we offer continuing education, free tutoring, and English Language Learning to adults in our community.

We have a Family Literacy Program and a Newcomer Connection Program eager to help. We now have two locations in St. Albert for your convenience – 80 McKenney Ave & Suite #213 at St. Albert Centre beside the Bay.

About Us

St. Albert Further Education has been providing St. Albert residents with adult learning opportunities since 1974. We strive to offer courses that interest and support our community.

Our Star Literacy program provides free one-on-one tutoring to help adults to improve their reading, writing, basic math, digital skills, job skills, GED preparation and English Language Learning.

Our Members advertise for reduced rates and provide many courses for adults and children which can be accessed at their websites in the Member Directory or Courses below.

Services

Exam Proctoring

We offer professional proctoring services required by some schools for online or written exams, or just a quiet room with great internet.

Room Rentals

We have three meeting rooms /classrooms that can be rented by the hour or the day.

Membership

An annual membership for any business that educates or assists the public has many benefits.

Our Programs

Our Star Literacy program has been helping adults in St. Albert since 1990. We offer one-on-one tutoring to assist adults in improving their reading, writing, numeracy, GED preparation, basic digital skills, English language skills, job, and life skills. All our tutors are volunteers from the community.

The Newcomer Connections program is designed to welcome, assess needs of newcomers and provide information and referrals to local businesses, nonprofit organizations and city agencies.
We offer support for newcomers with resume writing, interview skills, and job search. It has Women and Men’s information and cultural groups. We also refer English language learners to our Star Literacy sister program. This program runs in person, and online classes (daytime, evening & on weekends), provides free one on one tutors and conversation circles to help newcomers.
